Big or Small, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and support our Knolls Community.
Donate Your Time
We have opportunities big and small on and off campus that can be tailored to your busy schedule & utilize your talents. You could be of service remotely in your own time, doing things like being a Room Parent, Room Parent Coordinator or Financial Reviewer. You could help on campus with photocopying flyers, decorating, planning & volunteering for 30min at events & more. Anyone can help PTA: parents to students, extended family and friends. So, how do you best offer your talents? The first step is to reflect on what skill sets, experiences or community connections you have. The second step is to figure out what you are passionate about and what you’re interested in doing to support. We would love to hear from you! Chances are PTA has something for you that aligns with your passions and interests!
Donate Your Treasure
The PTA costs involved in supporting our children at Knolls Elementary are numerous. Without the assistance of community-minded businesses and individuals just like you, we would not be able to achieve our annual goal.
Donations in the form of products, discounts, services and gift certificates are always appreciated. It is monetary contributions that make the greatest impact, allowing our PTA to support programs, educational and enrichment events for the children. Best of all your donations are tax deductible!
Volunteer Opportunities
Book Fair
Valentine Grams will be up for sale during the beginning of February. We are looking for volunteers to help assemble grams prior to the Feb14th delivery. This volunteer opportunity is great for someone who would like to help but needs something that allows you to help on your own schedule.

Honorary Service Awards
The Honorary Service Awards recognize members of our school community that have gone above and beyond for our school. Volunteer to work with Simi Valley’s PTA Council and receive nominations in different categories for our school’s community members, oversee our Knolls voting panel and ensure our honorees are properly recognized at Knolls and at the Simi Valley Honorary Service Awards Ceremony with the other schools in our community. Help us show our appreciation for those who make a difference for our children!

PTA Board
The best way to make our school the best it can be is to get involved! Make your voice count by joining the Knolls Elementary PTA Executive Board and making the decisions that shape PTAs presence on camps. We meet for about 1 hour every second Thursday of the month at 8:30 am in the Knolls Elementary MPR. We still need a Financial Reviewer/ Auditor & a Parliamentarian. All of our Board positions come with training, support from your fellow board members and a position advisor provided by the Simi Valley PTA Council to make sure you’re not lost. We work as a team to ensure that PTA is working for you, so you can work for PTA! Signup for one of our openings today!! We can’t wait to have you “On Board”!

Afterschool Ice Cream Sales
Have a few extra minutes around school pick up? Help us out by selling ice cream after school dismissal. We’ll provide you with everything you’ll need and you'll be in and out in about 30 minutes! Let us know when you are available! Your help is SWEET!

Junior Olympics
Junior Olympics is a milestone event for 4th-6th graders throughout the Simi School District filled with school spirit. We are looking for volunteers to help coach our different athletic teams (practices twice a week for one hour, for 1-2 months). We also need snack/ drink donations and help from event volunteers to man the Knolls PTA booth, help in the snack shack, as event security and much more. No matter the age of your student mark your calendar to come cheer on our athletes and support our school during this awesome Saturday event! For more information contact theknollspta@gmail.com

Talent Show & Family Picnic
This amazing occasion encompasses two events in one and we need your help with both!
Are you someone who has a passion for the preforming arts? Do you love working with kids as they hone their skills and express their talents creatively? Consider helping us put on our beloved annual Talent Show! Attend tryouts, help select and assemble student acts, guide students at weekly practices for 6-8weeks and see your Stars sparkle onstage for the dress rehearsal (performed for the school staff & students on the day before the event, Thursday at 8:30am) then at the main event on the following Friday evening, as the audience watches the show while picnicking for the “Family Picnic” portion of the event.
We need volunteers to help us make this part of the evening happen! The Family Picnic hosts food vendors for our “Food Truck Food Court”, we also sell ice cream and PTA merchandise + put on an AMAZING raffle! We need an event Chairperson and volunteers to help with planning and for 30min shifts to setup/ decorate & cleanup, sell raffle tickets, merchandise & ice cream & help with distributing raffle baskets to the winners!
